Aimee Harness  

Singing/Glee Instructor

Aimee is a classically trained singer with a musical theatre background. She loves to sing, dance, play piano and act! She is studying classical voice performance at University of Toronto, and graduated from O’Neill CVI’s Theatre Program. Aimee looks forward to sharing her passion for singing and musical theatre with families at Arts on Fire.Join Aimee for Singing Lessons on Tuesdays or Adult Glee Music on Wednesdays.

Akira Hakim  

Kids Drama/Catch-Up Instructor

Akira loves being in plays and has taken years of acting and improv classes with Arts on Fire as well as performed on the stage at St. Mary’s C.S.S. She also enjoys being a prop-master! Her fun-loving approach to collaborative play and theatre scenes brings out a child’s confidence. Akira is part of our winning Party Squad for hosting birthday parties.

Barrett Moore

Musical Theatre Instructor

Barrett began singing before he could talk! He’s currently studying Acting at UBC and is a graduate of O’Neill C.V.I.’s Performing Arts Program. His favourite role to date is Tony in West Side Story at Oshawa Little Theatre. Barrett looks forward to passing on his passion for music and acting at Arts on Fire.

Charlize Diaz

Kids Drama/Catch-Up Instructor

Charlize loves the arts and wants to be a drama teacher one day. She’s studying acting at All Saints C.S.S. and teaches drama at her co-op elementary job. Performing in the Little Mermaid as Scuttle was a life-changing event! Charlize is part of our winning party-squad for birthday party hosting.

Ethan Courtney Snow

Art Instructor

Ethan is a multi-disciplined artist who has a talent for leading art lessons. Ethan can teach painting and drawing techniques to people of all ages and can improvise too! Ethan takes orders for commissioned art pieces. You can see some of his work at

Holly Young

Art Instructor

Holly is a graduate of OCAD University and delivers high-level art instruction for acrylic, watercolour and drawing techniques. Holly teaches Adult Painting and Ladies Paint Nights. Book Holly for a special event paint party in our studio or at your business/organization.

Imani Taylor

Drawing and Digital Art

Imani loves to draw! Her expressive teaching style helps kids gain confidence with sketching and character design. Imani has extensive experience with teaching kids of all ages. Learn how to draw and use digital art apps with Imani!

Kayleigh Forstner

Art Instructor

Kayleigh loves drawing and painting. She teaches dance classes when she’s not instructing art. Join Kayleigh for Kids Painting classes on Tuesdays, PA Day Camps, March Break Camp, and Summer Camps.

Lida Kamaluddin

Art Instructor

Lida is studying Fine Arts at York University. She is a talented painter and loves to draw too. Kids enjoy her calm and patient teaching style. Book Lida for your next paint party! You can see Lida’s mural of Van Gogh-style sunflowers in our painting studio.

Marissa Blagrove

Musical Theatre Instructor

Marissa has a passion for teaching kids in musical theatre and drama. Her work at the Song Spot in Whitby is on stage in Port Perry this spring: Matilda!

Nayleah Fenton

Guitar Instructor

Nayleah is an accomplished guitar teacher and loves to compose music. She is a top music student in grade 12 and has played guitar for six years. Her patient and clear instruction helps beginners build confidence in their musical journey. Nayleah is excited to share her passion for music with Arts on Fire.

Racheal D’Souza

Kids Drama and Drawing Instructor

Racheal studied Art Fundamentals at Senecca College and is currently studying Journalism at Sheridan College. She loves to draw, paint, and play imaginative drama games with kids.

Rochelle Thevasagayam

Drama and Film Instructor

Rochelle is a graduate of University of Toronto’s Theatre and Drama Studies as well as Sheridan College’s Acting program. Her acting experience includes work in commercials, voice-overs, television and live theatre. Rochelle’s favourite techniques invloce dramatic movement on stage. Don’t miss her exciting Youth Drama, Teen Short Film Making and Youth Dance Drama clesses.

Scott Barnes

Improv Instructor

Scott competed in the Canadian Improv Games in Vancouver as a teen and loved it so much he became a coach and mentor. He has trained recognizable faces and worked with some of the finest talent in the country. He served as Durham Improv’s President for two years and is excited to share his improv skills with adults who seek to both improve their stage presence and enhance their confidence and spontaneity. 

Sheri Prescott

Owner, Acting and Improv Instructor

Sheri is a drama teacher of 26 years with the DDSB and is a graduate of the Universities of Waterloo and Toronto. She loves coaching people in the art of theatre and improvisation. A long-time coach for the Canadian Improv Games, Sheri looks forward to bringing the joy of improv to the rest of Durham. Sheri prescribes an art class for whatever ails you!

Susana Mingram

Art Instructor

Susy is a fourth-year student at OCAD University studying in the program of Drawing and Painting. She is an award-winner artist in the Heartbeat Student Art Exhibition in Ajax and participated in the For Art’s Sake Exhibition at the McLaughlin Gallery. You can build your art portfolio in her Teen Art class on Saturdays.

Tyler Tulk

Drama, Improv, Acting, Character Drawing and Digital Art Instructor

Tyler is a graduate from Niagara College in the Acting for Film and Television program. He is passionate about acting in front of the camera and having fun with scripts. Even though his improv skills are sharp, he is also talented digital art.

Zuna Amir

Art Instructor

Zuna is a graduate of OCAD University with a Bachelor of Design majoring in illustration. Her business as a freelance artist keeps her busy creating colourful murals around Toronto. You can see her work at and on instragram.
